A Look at What May be Causing Your Back Pain

Many people suffer from back pain which can be induced by many different factors. Sometimes back pain is caused by a single incident, such as an injury. Oftentimes, this can also be a symptom related to being sick. More frequently, however, it comes about as the result of your daily habits, many of which you might not even be aware of. The pain that we feel in our back may simply be the result of walking or sitting in a way that aggravates our spine which causes the pain to appear.

If you sit at a desk or computer, or anywhere, for a long time without moving around, you might be subject to back pain. Basically, it doesn't mean that the chair or seat is uncomfortable. Just the act of sitting is what's at fault. Why is this? When you are seated, there is more pressure on your back. You don't have as much pressure when you are walking around or simply standing. So it's easy to understand why people who sit at a desk all day are more apt to have back problems. For this reason, some people and businesses are switching to stand-up style desks. There are other benefits to sitting less, as well. Research has reported that if you spend less time seated, you will be healthier. Maybe the thought of working while standing up doesn't appeal to you. If so, at least get up from time to time and move around a bit. This moving about will relieve some of the pressure on your back - you can take a short walk, do some stretching, or just stand up for a few minutes.

By having this option, you can save yourself a lot of backache and potential injury in the coming years.

If you have kidney stones or a kidney infection, for example, you may suffer from low back pain due to the fact the location of your kidneys in your lower back. As a rule, you could also experience pain when you urinate and/or in your lower abdomen. If you're having any symptoms of this nature, it's important to see a doctor as soon as possible. If your doctor suspects a kidney ailment, he can do testing to find out for sure. Such tests as an ultrasound or urinalysis might be all that he needs. Don't hesitate to have any lower back pain checked by your medical team if you suspect a kidney disorder. However, be aware that not all low back pain is kidney related.

It is a challenge to avoid back pain, especially since it can be caused by so many variables. By exercising too much everyday, or by not exercising at all, these problems can arise. It can be caused by the kind of mattress we sleep on, or even by wearing the wrong type of shoes. The best thing to do is try to identify what may be causing your back pain, more tips here and to stop doing whatever activity that may be doing so that the discomfort will dissipate.
